This course aims to cultivate students’ professional knowledge in course design, and major aspects, like needs assessment, learners’ background, materials selection, will be discussed. Skill-based learning (e.g. teaching speaking, listening, reading, writing respectively), and integrated learning (e.g. storytelling teaching, song/rhyme teaching, teaching of festivals) will be introduced. Students are expected to accomplish a course design with teaching demo and to be able to distinguish the effective teaching and teaching materials from the ineffective ones.
